This is a preliminary guide for reservation requests. Please wait for written acceptance, the final service terms, and your collection-specific packing instructions before shipping anything.
Start with a general list
Loose photographs, letters, handwritten recipes, cards, small drawings, clean dry garments, and small sturdy mementos may be suitable. Describe them in broad terms on the request form. We review unusual items, including low-value watches, individually.
Keep valuables and especially vulnerable pieces at home
Do not send cash, precious jewelry, luxury watches, important legal or identity documents, ashes or remains, biological materials, medication, food, liquids, weapons, batteries, or hazardous items. Wet, moldy, fragile, oversized, and unstable pieces are not suitable.
Sentimental importance is the reason for the collection, but no shipping or handling process is risk-free. Keep any original you cannot accept the risk of sending. We can discuss including a photograph or scan of it instead.
Confirm the collection before packing
The planned core collection covers up to 20 small keepsakes and 40 loose photo or document sides digitized. Each loose item counts separately; a bundle is not one item. The 40 scans cover sides of those same 20 keepsakes, not additional items. We confirm exact kit dimensions, weight and monetary-value limits, contents, and any additional work before payment. Please do not use an assumed box size or send an unapproved collection.
Documented intake and organization
The service plan includes intake photography, an itemized catalogue, and a unique collection ID. Your originals stay identifiable as they move through curation and return. Loose photographs and documents suitable for scanning are digitized; items too delicate to handle safely are discussed with you.
No permanent alterations in the core service
Clothing is not cut. Objects are not engraved, repaired, cleaned, or restored. We organize and present your original belongings and return them with the finished collection. Names, captions, and the book proof are shared for your approval before printing.
Shipping, timing, and return
The planning estimate is 3–4 weeks of curation after accepted items arrive, plus transit and any time needed for your proof approval. The actual window and shipping arrangements are confirmed before payment. Your finished collection goes back to you or an agreed recipient as soon as it is ready.
Written terms before a commitment
Before we accept items or payment, you receive the final scope, price, packing requirements, shipping responsibilities, monetary-value limits, applicable coverage details, cancellation terms, and digital-file delivery and retention terms. This guide does not promise insurance coverage or compensation for sentimental value.
